Cloud and SaaS based architectures are a necessary aspect modernizing today's world of interconnected technologies. APIs have become the primary connectors of the IT landscape.  With this transition to API communications, Identity and Access Management capabilities of authentication and authorization are moving to the API.  

However, modern API Management tools that typically exist providing API capability in these modern architectures are limited in their ability to integrate with IAM providers. In our presentation we will explore how to combine API and IAM capabilities into one simplified architecture to:

• Extend IAM beyond just HTTP and REST based schemes
• Connecting these API and IAM combined capabilities to legacy systems
• Create repeatable and scalable integrations with minimal coding and minimal disruption
• Reduce dependency on insecure and non-repeatable developer-centric adapter coding
• User-based monitoring and tracking of all API communications
