By 2020 there will be 20 billion Internet-connected devices. Traditional architectures won't stretch to allow them all to communicate, interact, and operate in real-time at scale. In this talk we will examine the challenges of connecting large audiences to real-time apps; explore pub/sub and long polling as foundational solutions; and propose a comprehensive solution that empowers developers to connect, deliver, and control streams of data reliably, securely, and scalably to create extraordinary and innovative products.
